Young Writers
Arcadia Unversity’s Qui Vive! Center for Writing, Book Arts, and Performance helps Philadelphia-area middle and secondary students believe in themselves as writers and poets through the process of experimenting, manipulating, and performing the written word. They offer afterschool classes and workshops, a summer poetry workshop, teacher development opportunities, and “write with your kids” sessions.
The Que Vive! project meets four sessions each year at Cliveden in our historic Carriage House. The program is open to students grades 7-12. Further details can be found on Qui Vive’s website. To apply for the program, click here.
- Qui Vive is funded through a generous grant provided by the Bartol Foundation.
History Hunters (Curriculum Based Program)
Cliveden is one of four historic sites that participates in the History Hunters Youth Reporter Program, a field trip program for Philadelphia fourth and fifth grade students. Each year more than 1000 children visit Cliveden as a History Hunter. This program is offered in conjunction with school-based curriculum. For more information about pricing and options, please visit the History Hunters Youth Reporter website.
Free Spirit Paranormal Investigators
Some people believe that Cliveden is haunted by ghosts from the past. The Free Spirit Paranormal Investigators are Cliveden’s in-house ghost-hunting team and frequently assist with educational programming. From time to time, they also investigate Cliveden and present their findings to the public. To learn more about their work, visit the Free Spirit Parnormal Investigators website.
